The American Healthcare Industry: A Limerick project

Posted by

In the land where they pay for their care,
Healthcare costs are enough to scare!
From premiums to bills,
It’s enough to give chills.
Good health comes with a hefty fare.

When Americans get sick, they may rue
The bills that they’ll later accrue.
The costs that they bear
Can cause quite a scare
As medical debt they struggle to chew.

The hospital visit was a fright
But the bill that came gave an even worse sight
An out-of-network fee
Was not part of the guarantee
Now the patient’s wallet is feeling quite light.

A visit to the hospital one day,
Shouldn’t cost more than you’re able to pay,
But if they go out of network,
A surprise bill can lurk,
And your wallet will start to decay.

Republicans sure hate Obamacare,
They’ve tried to repeal it everywhere!
But despite their resistance,
The law [stays] in existence,
And millions have coverage to spare.

    1. Agreed on all fronts. I want to understand the AI tools, so I’m working with them. I don’t think we are (as a society) prepared for the disruption we’re about to see in industries like marketing — AI is going to churn out social media posts faster and better than an underpaid college intern, and it’s going to eat that entire category of jobs.
