Unexpected Blessings

God is good. All the time.

In the past 24 hours….

Someone walked up and paid for our entire Anniversary dinner at Outback Steakhouse — above & beyond what we would have spent on it, really, so that even let us splurge a bit. 🙂

Then, last night, some sweet folks lent us the use of their wonderful house while they’re out of town for a couple nights. We’ve got a glorious view of the countryside, a wonderful open space to enjoy, and no one except a very friendly cat to accompany us for the next 24 hours.

Things are moving forward in our lives, and that’s a good feeling.

I write. I design. I read and think. I teach. I talk to people -- all kinds of people. My career journey includes working as a librarian, teaching for over a decade, working in higher education, freelancing as a graphic designer and marketing consultant, and earning a doctorate (as of 2022). My dream job would cross-pollinate the skills of barista and consultant, helping individuals and organizations understand the problems they face, ask better questions, and design solutions that work in their contexts. My research interests include improving STEM education in college classrooms, Design Thinking and human-centered design, relational and collective theories of leadership, knowledge life cycles within organizations, and faculty development. Somewhere back in time, my students started calling me "RameyLady" and the name stuck.
